Guerrero Gallery LA

GGLA is a rapidly growing art collective that’s been active for over a year in Glasell Park, Los Angeles. Originally founded in San Francisco, GGLA relocated to Los Angeles to broaden its community. GGLA plays a vital role in its community by giving a voice to underrepresented groups, advocating for diversity, and embracing interdisciplinary art forms.

Rosie Lee Tompkins Quilt Catalog

GGLA wanted to promote and highlight Rosie Lee’s quilts in catalog form to archive and present to art collectors who have shown interest in her work.

Rosie Lee Tompkins was born Effie May Martin in Gould, Ark., on Sept. 9, 1936. Having helped her mother and other women in their town piece quilts, the artist relocated to Richmond, California as part of the Great Migration, and began to make and sell quilts at local flea markets while working as a nurse in convalescent homes. Tompkins’ success at selling her wares at local flea markets soon had her quit her nursing job, and a chance encounter with the burgeoning quilt collector Eli Leon further pushed Tompkins into making her quilts full-time.

Photo Retouching

I was responsible for digitally removing obstructing elements such as poles from the photograph of the gallery's front before its art show opening night to enhance its promotional value on social media.
